Meet the Dutchies Staff:
Richard is the founder and owner of Dutchies Hostel. He’s an Amsterdam-local but his heart is in Spain. He’s approachable and always up for new things, so be sure to tell him if you have tips for the hostel. It may be implemented next time you visit!
Interested in having a chat? You might find him upstairs at the “Dutchies Office”.
Franca is an Amsterdam-local with a heart of gold and a love for 80’s and 90’s music. You may find her doodling on the corner of a page or reading a good book. Despite her level-headed demeanor, she’s always up for a party!
Interested in having a chat? She’s either behind the reception or upstairs at the “Dutchies Office” on weekdays.
Jaden, from the U.S., moved to Amsterdam to study Bioethics. She loves hip-hop, vegetarian food, and traveling. She also runs the Dutchies social media accounts – if you ask her, maybe she’ll snap a pic of you and your friends and feature it on our insta!
Interested in having a chat? She’s behind the reception on Fridays and upstairs in the “Dutchies Office” on other weekdays.
It’s always a good time with Jim. He’s from the UK, and is Dutchies’ youngest member. You might recognize him from his British accent and on-the-spot witty jokes. He is also working on a Bachelor’s in European studies and won the 2018 world-championship in Badminton!
Interested in having a chat? He’s behind the reception on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Cecelia is our very first Dutchies Intern! She’s studying Travel and Hospitality at the ROC van Amsterdam. One day she wants to move to the UK to work in hotels there. She’s one of the few Dutch staff members here, so feel free to ask her for inside tips about the Netherlands.
Interested in having a chat? She’s behind the reception on weekdays.
Sinan is an Amsterdam-local who’s enthusiastic and easy to approach. You might recognize him from his big smile or his loud voice, which can be heard in several languages: Dutch, English, Turkish, or German. Need tips on coffee shops? He’s the one to go to!
Interested in having a chat? He’s behind the reception on weekdays.
Anya, from Cyprus, is Dutchies’ very own artist. She is the creator of the big, beautiful mural on the right side of the hostel. Can’t get enough? Check-out some of the other paintings that she made. You will find them hanging on both sides of the hostel. And yes, they are for sale!
Interested in having a chat? She’s behind the reception on weekends.
Arian, from Cyprus, is friendly and easy-going. He came to Amsterdam to expand his career in dance. Arian is always in for a chat and happy to help you out. He’s one of the many expats in Amsterdam. Need some tips about moving to another country? Be sure to ask him.
Interested in having a chat? He’s behind the reception on nights and weekends.
Blaise, from Poland, is always smiling! You might find him air drumming or playing pool. He doesn’t like food go to waste, so it’s good to see if he’s hungry before throwing things away. He is interested in understanding people, so don’t be surprised if he asks you about your story!
Interested in having a chat? He’s behind the reception on weekday nights.
Kandice is sweet, even sweeter than her fellow Canadians. She’s known for her colourful hair, constant jokes, and love of sparkling water. She’s well-educated and well-traveled — if you have questions about medicine or finding cheap flights, she’s the person to go to!
Interested in having a chat? She’s behind the reception on Friday nights.
